Humble Confidence.

The other day I was sitting with a good friend of mine telling her that she is a bit of a contradiction. I told her that what I see in her is a humble confidence- and it is a beautiful thing.

People who can master the humility of one saved by grace coupled with the confidence that comes with God’s saving grace are ones to be admired. They are the people who attract others to Jesus. They make you take a second look and your not sure why. They are walking contradictions. They are beautiful.

Beautiful- not because of who they are, but because of who Christ is and who they allow Him to be through them.

I listened to a message this morning on the very topic of the seemingly contradictory phrase Humble Confidence. The Pastor, Jeremiah Rice, said this :

“When we lack humble confidence we become highly religious people who abuse others and take advantage of God…We become like the Pharisees- people of arrogant entitlement.”

Woah-let that sink in.

Lord, today, let me be humbly confident for you. Today Father, let me recognize my desperate need for your redemption and restoration and yet with boldness speak of your grace you freely gave when you died on the cross.

Let our lives reflect the Glory of God today with Humble Confidence.
